Easily accessible from Cambridge, Royston, Saffron Walden and surrounding areas, and ideal for those seeking a private safe woodland retreat with their pups from London, Essex and beyond.

THE ROUND WOOD…
IS IT SAFE & SECURE?
Yes, absolutely! A wide, fenced path winds through the woodland in a loop, leading all the way back to the car park. The fencing has been designed to feel open and unobtrusive, whilst remaining fully secure, giving you the freedom to enjoy your walk while keeping your dog safely enclosed and within sight.
At the end of each loop, you'll come to a gate, allowing you to either return to your car in the secure car park or head out for another lap. The gate also prevents dogs from automatically continuing onto another circuit.
As The Round Wood is a natural woodland, the ground is uneven in places with tree roots and other natural trip hazards. Please wear suitable footwear, take care, and watch your step throughout your visit.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Booking your visit is simple. Just choose your preferred date and time online by clicking here, select the number of dogs you'd like to bring (up to 9 dogs can be booked online; if you'd like to bring more, please contact us directly), and we'll take care of the rest.
Just like our secure paddocks, when you book The Round Wood, you'll have exclusive use of the woodland for the duration of your session. Each booking lasts 55 minutes, with a short gap between sessions to ensure there is no overlap or crossover with other visitors.
Approximately 2 hours before your booking, you'll receive an email and text message containing your unique access code for the secure car park, along with everything you need to know before your visit.
COMING SOON:
THE OPEN AREA
About halfway around the track, you'll see the entrance to our Open Woodland Area – around 3 acres of fully enclosed space that will soon be opening for dogs and their owners to enjoy.
Once open, it will be an addition to the track loop, and offer a beautiful natural area where you can wander freely, follow natural woodland paths, and explore at your own pace.
Please do not try to access this area until it's officially ready and open, as it is not yet secure and there are still hazards within the site.

Dogs often use more energy in woodland environments than they do in open spaces. With all the trees, leaves and natural scents, there’s so much more for them to investigate -turning a simple visit into a rich, sniff-filled adventure.
In the woodland, your dog can follow winding scent trails, explore different textures and terrain, and engage their brain through natural scentwork. All of this mental stimulation means they’re working just as hard (if not more!) than during a run.
Many dogs leave the woodland not just physically exercised, but mentally satisfied too - often leading to a calmer, more relaxed dog afterwards.
